Two twin sisters from Japan have got the title of oldest female twin. His age is now above 107 years. His name has also been recorded in the Genius World Record Book. Even before this, this record was in the name of only two sisters of Japan.


Japan’s two sisters named Umeno Sumiyama and Koume Kodama on September 1, 2021 broke the record for being the world’s oldest twins. According to DNA, he was born on November 5, 1913, on the island of Shodoshima, western Japan. He was the third and fourth of his 11 siblings. Umeno Sumiyama and Koume Kodama broke the record previously held by Japanese twin sisters Kin Narita and Jin Kani on September 1.


Recalling his life span, Umeno Sumiyama said that they parted ways after primary education. Kodama moved to the island of Kyushu to work as a maid and later married there, while Sumiana stayed at home to support her family.


By the time both of them got free time from household, their age was more than 70 years. When the two sisters met after 70 years, they had a lot of fun. The two made many pilgrimages together. He had never imagined that one day he would get the record of being the oldest. During this, both the sisters used to make fun of those twin sisters, whose names earlier held the record of being the oldest twin woman. These are known as “Kin-san” and “Jin-san”.


Both the twin sisters have seen two world wars. Umeno had to vacate his house at the end of World War II. Both Umeno and Koume now live in separate care homes.
