CM Khattar behaves like General Dyer, farmer will account for everyone – Rakesh Tikait furious with lathi charge on farmers

CM Khattar behaves like General Dyer

Bharatiya Kisan Union spokesperson and farmer leader Rakesh Tikait has fiercely attacked the police lathi charge on farmers in Karnal, Haryana. Comparing the Chief Minister of the state, Manohar Lal Khattar with General Dyer, he has said that the farmers will do all the accounts.

Rakesh Tikait shared a picture of an injured farmer in a tweet made on Sunday from his official Twitter handle and wrote, ‘Haryana Chief Minister Khattar’s behavior is like General Dyer. The atrocities committed by the Haryana Police on the farmers cannot be tolerated. The farmer will calculate everything.

Former IAS officer Surya Pratap has also targeted the Khattar government for lathi-charge on farmers. He tweeted, ‘O today’s General Dyer, are you a slave to the orders of the king of Chidi or where the gesture happened, Bhanj di lathi and broke his head.’

What is the whole matter- In view of the civic and panchayat elections in Haryana, a meeting was organized in Karnal on Saturday in which party MPs and MLAs including the CM attended. Farmers gathered in protest against this event, in view of which all the roads were closed. Angry farmers blocked the Bastanda toll plaza of NH 44. This led to a tussle between the police and the farmers, after which the police lathi-charged.

In this lathi charge many farmers got their heads broken. The Bharatiya Kisan Union has alleged that the police brutally pelted sticks on the farmers. Rakesh Tikait has also said that this lathi charge is a conspiracy of the government to divert attention from the Mahapanchayat to be held in Muzaffarnagar on 5th September.

At the same time, pictures and videos of farmers getting injured are viral on social media. People are criticizing the Khattar government and demanding suspension of the DM of Karnal.
