UK is ‘discriminating’ on Kovid vaccine
Controversy has arisen over a new UK travel rule related to the Corona vaccine. According to the new UK rule, a person who has been vaccinated in India will have to remain in quarantine there. That is, the vaccine here has not been recognized by Britain.
The Government of India has expressed deep displeasure over this decision of UK and has also issued a warning to Britain. Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Singla said at a press conference that the UK government’s decision not to recognize Covishield as a valid anti-Covid vaccine is discriminatory. Indians traveling there will be affected by this move of Britain.
He further said that External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has strongly raised this issue with the new UK Foreign Secretary. I am told that some assurances have been given that the issue will be resolved. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has also tweeted about this meeting.
The UK has refused to consider people vaccinated in many other countries including India, Africa, South America. Citizens of these countries will have to stay in quarantine for 10 days if they go abroad. During this, they will also have to get corona tested.
